Alex Warren’s Grammy Glitch

Alex Warren has spoken openly about the technical problems that disrupted his performance during Sunday night’s (2.01) Grammy Awards

Taking to the stage at the Crypto.com Arena to perform his viral smash ‘Ordinary,” something went south when the Best New Artist nominee appeared to battle with his in-ear monitors throughout the live Los Angeles broadcast.

After the ceremony, the 25-year old singer took to Instagram to address the audio that seemed out of sync as he tried to stay on track. Giving fans a snapshot of what he was dealing with on stage, Warren posted a clip of the distorted, delayed sound he said was playing through his earpiece during the performance.

“When you’re performing at the Grammys and all you hear is this in your ears.” “This would only happen to me …,” joked the superstar singer/songwriter.

While walking the red carpet, the California native admitted to People that his recent success, whose songs are inspired by worship music, has changed his outlook “I had to delete all of my DMs the minute this all happened. There were like 400 of them. There’s probably a restraining order. I don’t know.”

Previously admitting that his music knowledge is limited, Alex explained that he was actually making a conscious effort to improve his own knowledge of other artists. In an interview with the Guardian newspaper he said:

“Everyone’s always asked me [what music] I know, and I’m like, ‘I have no idea who these people are and I wish I did.’ So I’ve been really trying to put myself out there and like other music.” “I’ve been listening to a lot of albums – that’s something I wasn’t doing before.”

A big fan of Charli xcx’s Brat album, that included the singles ‘Von Dutch,’ ‘Apple,’ and ‘360,’ Warren admitted “I liked it a lot. I was like, ‘Wow, I’ve never listened to music like this before,’ from start to finish. It’s been interesting.”
