In an unpredictable yet exciting move, Drake will catch his fans off guard by releasing his ‘Scary Hours 3’ LP at midnight tomorrow (11.17.23).
Some 24 hours prior and almost six weeks after releasing his latest album, ‘For All The Dogs’, the superstar rapper/write (born Aubrey Drake Graham,) teased a dramatic trailer for the follow-up to his ‘Scary Hours’ (20180 and ‘Scary Hours 2’ (2021) EPs.
In the serious spot, Drake states “I feel no need to appease anybody.” “I feel so confident about the body of work that I just dropped,” adding that that he could “disappear for six months, a year, two years,”, yet insists “I’m not super into the lengthy disappearances.”
Claiming that all music contained in’ Scary Hours 3′ was written “in the last five days.” and that he did “not have one bar written” prior to releasing ‘For All the Dogs’.
Addressing the prolific period he’s currently enjoying, the multi-Grammy award winner said “I feel like I’m on drugs.” “I feel like I’m in that mental state without doing anything. It’s happening on its own. Who am I to fight it?”
Captioning the Instagram video “Scary Hours 3. Tonight at Midnight,” Drake struts through a concert hall with a glass of wine as the narration plays, and ends with a threatening piece of orchestral music.
The forthcoming full length album comes hours after Drake and J. Cole shared the video for their collaboration ‘First Person Shooter’.
In an ironic twist, the new album comes as somewhat of a surprise as days following ‘For All The Dogs’, Drake claimed he was taking a break from making music in order to focus on his health. The now 37-year-old rap star revealed that he planned to step back for “maybe a year” given the “craziest problems” with his stomach.
During a SiriusXM’s ‘Sound 42’ interview, the artist said “I probably won’t make music for a little bit.” “I’m gonna be honest. I got some other things I need to do for some other people that I made promises to, but I probably won’t make music for a little bit.” “I’m gonna be real with you. I need to focus on my health first and foremost and I’ll talk about that soon enough.”
Committed to overcoming his health issues, he added “I want people to be healthy in life and I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach. So I need to focus on my health and get right, and I’m going to do that.”
Unsure when he’d return to the music scene, the Canadian-born talent admitted that he could actually be absent from the business for more than a year. “I need to get right. I have a lot of other things that I would love to focus on. So I’m gonna lock the door in the studio for a little bit.” “I don’t even know what a little bit is. Maybe, maybe a year or something, or maybe a little longer.”
