In celebration of the iconic rokers 50th anniversary, AC/DC have launched a new limited edition alcohol brand in association with Scottish distillers Ballantine’s Scotch whiskey.
In a statement about their deal with the iconic rockers, the alcohol company said “With AC/DC’s unwavering commitment to staying true to their roots aligning with Ballantine’s ethos of celebrating self-expression, it was a natural fit for the Scotch whisky to pay tribute to this iconic band in its 50th anniversary year.”
As a tribute to the Australian act’s 2020 Pump Up LP, the whiskey bottle design features the band’s thunderbolt logo in neon red, and Ballantine’s have named the ‘Dark and Thunderstruck’ cocktail in the band’s honor, which they described as “a twist on the classic Kentucky Mule Whisky cocktail”.
With lead guitarist Angus Young and his late elder brother Malcolm born in Glasgow and their late singer Bon Scott from the town of Forfar, AC/DC have very close ties to Scotland.
In music related news, the legendary musicians performed at the Power Trip festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, along with Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden and Metallica.
