After having risen to fame through her modeling career and making headlines in 2016 for her romance with pop star Justin Bieber, Australian model Sahara Ray has passed away at the age of 34.
While the cause of death has not yet been disclosed, her family said “She passed away last night surrounded by family at the hospital. She was so loved.”
Having grown up splitting her time between Australia, California, and Hawaii, Ray was the daughter of big-wave surfer Tony Ray.
In January, Ray welcomed her first child, a daughter named Snow, about which we she posted “Baby Snow hallelujah,” along with Bieber’s 2025 hit ‘Everything Hallelujah,’ and her final post was a series of sweet photos of her daughter, shared in July with “My whole heart… baby Snow.”
In addition to Justin, Ray was also linked to Australian singer Cody Simpson and, more recently, American musician Mod Sun.
In 2024, Sahara opened up about being diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare autoimmune condition, caused by trauma after she was hit by a car, adding “I’m so overwhelmed with what’s been going on with me.” “So basically right now, I’m paralyzed from the tops of my upper thighs all the way down to my feet. I can’t walk at all.”
