Soulja Boy has teased a possible run for the 2028 US Presidency.
The 36-year-old rapper took to social media on Sunday to declare his interest in moving from music to politics.
Posing in front of a huge American flag, Soulja Boy – real name DeAndre Cortez Way – promised to offer better “opportunities” to young voters.
“A new chapter. A bigger vision. A commitment to creating opportunities for the next generation,” he wrote on Instagram.
The Crank That rapper, who was arrested for gun possession last year, continued to discuss his interest in a political campaign as he laid out the areas of most importance to him.
“My focus is on four things,” he explained.
“Economic opportunity, criminal justice reform, education, and the future of technology and AI.”
While Soulja Boy made his political intentions clear, he didn’t reveal a party affiliation.
However, the star did insist his primary focus would be on “public service”.
“From music to business to technology, I’ve always believed in thinking bigger and challenging what’s possible,” he wrote.
“Now I’m exploring what it means to bring that same vision to public service.”
The star then finished off the post by sparking the imagination of his followers as he encouraged them to seriously consider his political ambition.
“The future starts with a conversation,” he concluded.
Since posting the message yesterday, more than 124,000 followers have liked it.
Hundreds of fans replied to the post insisting they would vote for Soulja Boy if he does run in the 2028 US Presidential race.
Soulja Boy would become the first rapper in US office if his campaign is successful.
It has been reported he’s yet to file formal paperwork with the Federal Election Commission, to make his campaign official.
