Zach Bryan Addresses Sobriety

How quit drinking has helped protect his mental health, Zach Bryan is celebrating nearly two months of sobriety,

After taking a 20-day solo motorcycle trip across the United States, on Tuesday (11.18,) the 29-year-old country musician took to social media about his decision, writing:

“At the end of this ride, I was sitting in a parking lot in Seattle, Washington thinking ‘I really need some f**king help, and reflecting on how his years in military service and the rapid rise of his music career left little time for him to take care of himself, the superstar singer/songwriter added “Being in the military for a decade and then thrown into a spotlight that I hadn’t fully comprehended the scope of, had some subconscious effects on me as a person.” “I was not content but I also feared showing weakness because that’s not who I am or how I was raised.”

Admitting that alcohol masked his “perpetual discontent”, as “there was a consistent black hole in me that always needed its void filled,” the Oklahoma-born artist went on to share how online criticism and being “lied about” had taken a toll on his mental wellbeing, at times triggering “earth-shattering panic attacks”.

“The anxiety I felt was paralyzing and I thought since I was successful, had the money I always longed for, and had great friends, that I could tough anything out.” “I haven’t touched alcohol for nearly two months now – something I had to do for my own personal clarity.” “I needed to see the world objectively,” revealed Bryan, after working with a therapist.

Reflecting on his progress, Zach concluded with “I feel great. I feel content. I feel whole. There’s nothing I need to get me by anymore.”

Accused of emotional abuse by ex-girlfriend Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia after their 2024 breakup, Zach Bryan’s Instagram post follows a physical altercation with fellow country singer Gavin Adock.
