Famous for his mega-hit ‘Return of the Mack,’ Mark Morrison has been arrested in Florida on battery charges following an altercation at a Palm Beach restaurant.
According to the local police, witnesses at the restaurant claimed that the British-born, R&B singer shoved the Le Bar à Vin’s manager, Nicola Lavacca, twice after becoming frustrated over an event he had started planning with the venue the day before.
Per an arraignment date set for April 15 at the Palm Beach County Courthouse, Morrison was subsequently released on bail and will return to court after his arrest by authorities.
Not the first time the chart-topping musician, best known for his mid-1990s international hits ‘Crazy,’ ‘Let’s Get Down’ and ‘Return of the Mack,’ has dealt with legal infractions, in 1997 he served a three-month jail sentence after being convicted in 1997 for attempting to bring a stun gun aboard an aircraft.
In 1998, the now is 52-year old was reportedly arrested on his way to Barbados after missing a court appearance for charges related to possessing an offensive weapon – a charge that was later dismissed.
After being sentenced to community service for his involvement in a brawl that resulted in a fatality in 1998, Morrison received a one-year sentence for having a lookalike perform his court-ordered community service for him while he was away on tour.
