50 Cent has vowed to prevent any presidential pardons, following reports of Sean Combs’ preverdict maneuvering to land a pardon from Donald Trump, and the president’s own admission that he “would certainly look at the facts” if Combs was to be found guilty.
In a collection of weekend Instagram posts, the longtime Combs nemesis, 50 Cent responded to the report concerning the embattled rapper’s pardon posturing in the event of a guilty verdict. “[Combs] said some really bad things about Trump, it’s not OK. I’m gonna reach out so he knows how I feel about this guy,” the rapper wrote, adding:
“Donald doesn’t take well to disrespect, and doesn’t forget who chooses to go against him. While working tirelessly to make America great again there is no room for distraction. He would consider pardoning anyone who was being mistreated not Puffy Daddy.”
During Friday”s (5.30), press conference, when Trump was asked whether a Combs pardon has been discussed within the White House, the president replied:
“Nobody’s asked. I know people are thinking about it. People have been very close to asking.” “I would certainly look at the facts. If I think somebody is mistreated, whether they like me or don’t like me, it wouldn’t have any impact on me.” “I haven’t seen him, I haven’t spoken to him in years. He used to really like me a lot, but I think when I ran for politics, that relationship busted up. From what I read. I don’t know, he didn’t tell me that. But I read some little bit nasty statements in the paper all of a sudden.” replied Trump, who earlier in the week pardoned NBA YoungBoy.
Following 50 Cent’s comments about the possible pardon went viral, some headlines misquoted the rapper (born Curtis Jackson III) and his plans to “nuke” the pardon. “I didn’t say I would nuke anything, I simply said I will make sure Trump is aware,” 50 Cent clarified today.
