Tori Kelly reflected on her July 2023 health scare when she was rushed to hospital after collapsing due to life-threatening blood clots around her vital organs.
In a new interview with People, the 31-year old artist reflected on how her health scare has changed her life, stating:
“When I look at just my life, my career and getting to go on these tours, I’m just like, ‘I don’t want to take anything for granted because life as I now have experienced is so fragile.” “I’m just holding people a little closer.”
Adding that she now feels “amazing” and only has to take a “simple medication” to support her recovery, Tori is now “going in for checkups” to make sure she is fit and healthy.
Amidst of her 2023 health scare, on July 28 the Grammy winner released her self-titled EP, Tori, and three weeks later, she embarked on her first-ever North American tour since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Friday (4.05), the singer/songwriter released, Tori, her fifth studio full length that includes her ‘High Water,’ the song inspired by her health emergency.
“I was able to really process what had happened, and I am a late processor.” “I think it helps me in my songwriting though, because I’m able to think back and be like, ‘Oh, that’s how I felt. OK, let me channel that feeling,” shared Kelly.
