Timberlake’s Lawyer Says Justin Was Not Drunk In NY

Following his early-summer driving while intoxicated arrest, the attorney for Justin Timberlake has argued that his client’s case should be dismissed.

On June 18, the superstar singer/songwriter made headlines when he was stopped by police in Sag Harbor, New York, and was charged with one count of DWI and was issued two citations, one for driving past a stop sign and one for failing to remain in his car lane.

The now 43-year old musician’s legal team is vehemently disputing the facts with his attorney Edward Burke, telling reporters outside court on Friday (a 7.26) that “He was not intoxicated. I’ll say it again. Justin Timberlake was not intoxicated.”

According the the Daily Mail, Timberlake’s counsel argued the case should be thrown out of court as “the police made a number of very significant errors in this case,” adding “In court today, you heard the district attorney try to fix one of those errors. But that’s just one and there are many others. Sometimes the police make mistakes and this is just one of those instances.”

Burke accused prosecutors of failing to “get a superior officer’s signature on the initial charging papers – and therefore the case should be dropped.”

After being stopped, Justin’s humiliation was made that much worse when the arresting officer had no idea who he was.

Currently in the throws of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, the musician/actor reportedly muttered “This is going to ruin the tour,” in front of the officer. and when the officer asked, “What tour?” he was reportedly told by Timberlake, “The world tour.” The Forget Tomorrow World Tour is due to end at the end of the year with a final show marked for 20 December in Kansas City.
