Promising to follow the heavy metal group’s “unwavering connection” with fans, on Tuesday (2.24,) producers at Universal Pictures International announced the Iron Maiden : Burning Ambition documentary will be released in theaters worldwide on May 7.
The feature-length documentary – directed by Malcolm Venville and produced by Dominic Freeman -chronicles the band’s “remarkable” fifty year journey, with a synopsis of of the project that reads “With unprecedented access to official band archives, Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition charts five decades of one of the most iconic journeys in music history.” “This electrifying film offers an intimate look at their uncompromising vision and unwavering connection with their global army of fans.”
Featuring members Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Bruce Dickinson, Nicko McBrain, and Janick Gers, the iconic metal act formed in East London in 1977, and in addition to interviews with the group, the project will also include cameos from such high-profile fans, including actor Javier Bardem, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, and rapper Chuck D.
In 2021, the legendary rockers dropped Senjutsu, their seventeenth studio album, and are preparing to embark on the 2026 stint of the Run For Your Lives World Tour, and are next scheduled to play a concert in Athens, Greece on 23 May.
Tickets for Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition go on sale on March 18.
