Teddy Swims Talks About Therapy

In a recent interview, Teddy Swims opened up about his experience of being in therapy.

Expecting their first child together this summer, the singer/songwriter born Jaten Collin Dimsdale, confirmed that therapy was his his girlfriend Raiche Wright’s idea in order to prepare themselves for parenthood.

Speaking on Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place podcast, the now 32-year old singer stated:

“She was like, ‘I think we should go to couple’s therapy as we’re having a baby. I want to make sure our communication is great’.” The next thing you know, we’re in therapy. Then I’m talking to a therapist on the side in solo sessions. I was like, she got me!”

Explaining that the therapy sessions forced him to confront life’s biggest issues, Swims added “I thought that when enough people said I was good at this, that all my problems would vanish. But that was the most lonely feeling.”

Having released music since 2019, his debut full length in September 2023, was ironically titled “I’ve Tried Everything but Therapy (Part 1)” and the sequel LP, “I’ve Tried Everything but Therapy (Part 2),” dropped in January.
