Taylor Swift will address the class of 2022 and will receive an honorary degree from New York University.
To be held on May 18 at Yankee Stadium, the superstar singer/songwriter will will receive a Doctor of Fine Arts, honoris causa, and will speak to the the classe of 2022 as well as the classes of 2020 and 2021 that were affected by the pandemic.
In a statement about the forthcoming event, NYU’s president Andrew Hamilton said:
“Since 2019, we have been deprived of Commencement’s festive, communal joy, and its absence has been keenly felt.” “We reconvene at Yankee Stadium with a renewed sense of appreciation for the act of celebrating together in person, a recognition of our graduates’ enormous achievements, and a respect for their character and perseverance.”
