Liam Payne Cause Of Death Confirmed

Three months after his tragic passing, Liam Payne‘s medical cause of death has been officially confirmed.

A quarter year following his fatal fall from a hotel balcony in Argentina on October 16 2024, the medical cause of the late One Direction star’s death has been confirmed as multiple traumatic injuries aka as “polytraum.”

According to the Buckinghamshire Coroner’s Court during the December 17 inquest hearing, Senior Coroner Crispin Butler noted that it “may take some time” to establish exactly how the 31-year-old died, adding:

“Whilst there are ongoing investigations in Argentina into the circumstances of Liam’s death, over which I have no legal jurisdiction, it is anticipated that procuring the relevant information to address particularly how Liam came by his death may take some time through the formal channel of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

The inquest into the British pop star’s death has been postponed until a November 6 pre-inquest review and Dr Roberto Victor Cohen confirmed the medical cause of death.

In late-December, Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office announced that five people had been charged in connection with Payne’s passing, including hotel manager, Gilda Martin, a receptionist, Esteban Grassi, and a friend of the singer, Roger Nores, each of whom have been charged with manslaughter. Additionally, hotel employee Ezequiel Pereyra and waiter Braian Paiz have been charged with supplying cocaine.

In November of last year, Payne was laid to rest in Buckinghamshire, England, in the presence of his former One Direction bandmates Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson.
