Stevie Nicks + Billy Joel Co-Headline Tour

On Friday night (3.10) at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium, Stevie Nicks and Billy Joel kicked off their highly-anticipated co-headlining tour.

While the superstars performed their their own collection of hits, each iconic musician appeared for a duet during the other’s set. Early in Nicks’ gig, Joel shuffled onstage to contribute the Tom Petty part on her classic “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” and halfway through Billy’s 21-song gig, Stevie lent her voice to his ballad “And So It Goes.”

Though the piano man’s set was a shortened version of his monthly Madison Square Garden concerts collection, the Fleetwood Mac front woman had several surprises during the first night of the Two Icons – One Night tour when she performed “Fall From Grace” for the first time in over ten years, and sang “Sara” as a solo artist for the first time since 2008.

Friday’s concert was also Nicks’ first time onstage since the death of her Fleetwood Mac band mate Christine McVie, and she paid tribute to her fallen friend with an emotional rendition of “Landslide” during the encore. “I have to imagine she’s still here. It’s all I can do,” said Nicks told the audience.

The Joel / Nicks’ tour resumes April 8 in Arlington, Texas, followed by intermittent shows until November including Nashville (5.19,) Philadelphia (6.16,) Columbus (8.05,) Kansas City (8.19,) Foxborough (9.29,) Baltimore (10.9,) and wrapping up in Minneapolis (11.10.)

Prior to her tour Nicks also wrote a note urging her fans to vote in the upcoming 2022 midterm elections, accompanied by a poem titled “Get It Back,” which she plans to release as a song. “I am worried about every one of you,” the note read. “Worried about health care, and just in general, worried about your God given rights. You must gather right now. The disintegration of Roe v. Wade will change your life in an unfathomable way. You will not have control of what your beautiful dreams want for you.”
