Sophie Ellis Bextor Confirms New LP + Show

Available on September 12th, alongside a special LP launch show at London’s KOKO on September 8th, UK disco-pop sensation Sophie Ellis-Bextor has formally announced the release of Perimenopop, her highly anticipated eighth studio collection.

The now 46-year old’s announcement comes after her brand-new single ‘Taste,’ the upbeat collab with MNEK and producer Jon Shave (Charli XCX, Sugababes,) that represents Bextor’s return to the disco-pop sound that made her famous years ago.

In a statement about her song, Sophie said “Taste is about chemistry.” “It’s about how someone’s preferences—what they enjoy, what they introduce you to—can become irresistible. It’s a full sensory experience, and the song reflects that thrill.”

Including her previously released singles ‘Freedom of the Night,’ ‘Relentless Love,’ and ‘Vertigo,’the Perimenopop LP is a vibrant, empowering album, filled with energy, colour and authenticity that embraces the singer’s 25-year journey through music with a renewed sense of confidence and fun.

Following the massive resurgence of her 2001 hit ‘Murder on the Dancefloor,’ that went viral after being featured in the final scene of Saltburn, the track re-entered global charts, earning the singer platinum status in America, double BRIT platinum in the UK, climbing to #2 on the Official UK Singles Chart and #51 on the Billboard Hot 100.

With five Top 10 LPs and eight Top 10 songs to her credit, and opening for music legends Take That and Nile Rodgers, and performing on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage, Sophie recently played sold-out tours across Europe and the U.S. And this spring sees her embark on her biggest UK tour to date, including a sold-out Royal Albert Hall show.

Tickets for the Perimenopop album launch at KOKO will be available via pre-sale on Wednesday, May 14th with album pre-orders, and on general sale from May 16th.
