As Team USA’s first-ever honorary coach, at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, Snoop Dogg will “celebrate and uplift” athletes.
To support American athletes at the Olympic Winter Games and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, on Thursday (12.11,) officials from the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) confirmed their partnership with the hip-hop icon.
In a statement about his involvement, the 54-year old rapper declared that he couldn’t wait to get started, adding:
“Team USA athletes are the real stars – I’m just here to cheer, uplift and maybe drop a little wisdom from the sidelines.” “This team represents the best of what sport can be: talent, heart, and hustle. If I can bring a little more love and motivation to that, that’s a win for me.”
In his new position, the superstar musician will help build awareness for the Team USA Fund, which provides direct resources to help athletes reach their full potential.
Born Calvin Broadus Jr., the iconic artist is also partnering with Fanatics on a Coach Snoop × Team USA collection, which is set to launch by year’s end, a percentage of the sales from which will support Team USA.
Excited to have Snoop serve in the volunteer role, Sarah Hirshland, chief executive officer of the USOPC, stated:
“From the moment Snoop met Team USA athletes, there was an instant connection-mutual respect, genuine curiosity, and a lot of laughter.” “His enthusiasm for the Olympic and Paralympic Movement is contagious, and we’re thrilled to officially welcome him as a member of the Team Behind the Team.”
In September, Snoop confirmed his involvement with the 2026 Winter Olympics coverage team for NBCUniversal to be held at sites across Lombardy and Northeast Italy from February 2 thru 22, 2026.
