As part of their ramped up, creative changes to the new season of The Voice, Snoop Dogg will be joining the NBC-TV show as a “Mega Mentor.”
Snoop will be imparting his wisdom to the remaining artists who’ve made it through the Battle Rounds, as each team prepares for the Knockout segment when artists are paired against a teammate, but select their own song to perform while their competitor watches and waits. Effective April 17, renowned celebrity, rapper, and producer is expected to share a fresh new perspective to help the artists craft their showcases.
Having thus far released 19 studio albums which sold over 40 million worldwide, securing countless #1 Billboard charts positions, and 20 Grammy nominations Snoop Dogg is well-suited for the mentor role. The famous songwriter has also appeared in numerous films, including Dolemite Is My Name, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, The Addams Family, Beach Bum, Starsky & Hutch, Soul Plane and the Oscar-winning drama Training Day.
The latest television news follows the announcement that Ariana Grande would also be joining The Voice, (replacing Nick Jonas) as one of the coaches alongside Blake Shelton, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson for season 21 of the show.
