Taking to his Instagram account, on Tuesday (9.01) Sean Ono Lennon confirmed that his longtime girlfriend, Charlotte Kemp Muhl, had recently given birth to a baby boy named Aurelius.
Along with photos of the couple cradling the newborn, John Lennon’s son penned “@charlottekempmuhl and I have created a Human Bean!” “His name is Aurelius! Thank you!”
The 50-year old also posted a snap of him holding his son and an image of Charlotte, 39, sitting with Aurelius in a hospital bed with the caption “Baby Momma!”
About becoming a new parent, Aurelius’ mother said “We made a human! Am convinced DNA is agentic alien quaternary code.” “The sleep deprivation only adds to the surrealism… Burping technique tips welcome. Been playing him Aphex Twin and Stravinsky. Meconium (a baby’s first poop) is crazy.”
Performing together as the musical duo, The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger, Sean and his model-musician professional and personal partner started dating in 2007.
Little Aurelius is the only grandchild of artist Yoko Ono and the late John Lennon, the iconic Beatle who was murdered at the age of 40 in 1980, when Sean was just five years old.
Though he seldom speaks about his famous parents, in a 2025 interview for CBS Sunday Morning, Sean emphasized that he’s made it his mission to carry on the artists’ legacy, adding:
“Obviously, the world is also the custodian of (Lennon’s) legacy, I would say.” “I’m just doing my best to help make sure that the younger generation doesn’t forget about The Beatles and John and Yoko. That’s how I look at it.”
