Scrapped Avicii Documentary Leaked Online: Watch

Six months before Avicii‘s shocking suicide in 2017, a documentary was released to showcase his larger-than-life career and a behind-the-scenes look inside his personal life, health struggles, creative process, and unsustainable touring schedule. At some point, however, the film was pulled from Netflix, but now it’s back.

Titled True Stories, the documentary is directed by Levan Tsikurishvili who followed the Swedish deejay/producer/artist around the world for four years, showcasing the light and dark sides of the music industry. It features interviews with friends and musicians alike including David GuettaTiësto, Wyclef Jean, Nile Rodgers, and more.

In a press release for the initial launch, Tsikurishvili described the influence behind his project by saying, “I wanted to do a brutally honest film about Tim as a person and not only about Avicii. Everybody knows Avicii but very few people know Tim. I think this documentary really shows Tim’s struggle and strength of character. Being a worldwide superstar artist is not as easy as it looks on Instagram.”

Watch the resurfaced documentary.

Since his premature passing, Avicii’s parents, friends and others have put multiple initiatives in motion, including the Tim Bergling Foundation to help those with mental health issues and released a posthumous album of unfinished material that fellow artists completed to present TIM.
