After being taken into custody on Friday (11.07) by the Atlanta Police Department on four charges – including possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies, reckless driving, possession of a Schedule V controlled substance and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance – Rod Wave remains in jail.
In a statement about his client’s case, Waves’ attorney, Drew Findling, told TMZ that Wave had already appeared in court and had been granted $8,000.00 bail.
Not his first brush with the law, in recent years the musician (Rodarius Green) has had numerous run-ins with police.
In September 2021, the 27-year old rapper was arrested on a single battery charge; and again in Florida in 2022 on an outstanding strangulation charge.
In May 2025, Rodarius was arrested on 14 charges, including aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit a felony, criminal damage to property, pointing or aiming a gun or pistol at another person, simple assault and more. At the time, Wave’s legal team denied that he committed any wrongdoing and argued that the rapper was actually the victim in the case.
One month later, the Florida-born hip-hop artist was booked by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office on another single charge of battery.
In an ironic Friday (11.07) twist, the same day that he was taken into custody by the Atlanta Police Department, Wave scored his first Grammy nomination in the Best Song Written for the Visual Media category for ‘Sinners,’ the title track from the vampire film of the same name starring Michael B Jordan.
