Rita Wilson Drops ‘Jury Of One’: Look + Listen

Reflecting a raw and relatable ode to the pressure women feel to “do it all,” and the guilt that comes with it, Rita Wilson released her new single ‘Jury of One.’

The latest offering from the 69-year-old singer/actress/producer’s forthcoming Sound of a Woman LP, the single comes complete with a cinematic music video filmed at Storm King Art Center in New York.

About her composition born from a lifetime of apologizing for simply existing under impossible expectations, Wilson said “It’s so hard to devote my attention to something without feeling guilty about all the things I’m not doing.” “So many women apologize when we haven’t done anything wrong. It becomes habitual — sometimes it’s easier than standing up for something you believe in.”

Co-produced with nine-time Grammy winner Dave Cobb and recorded at Nashville’s legendary RCA Studio A, Sound of a Woman marks the most revealing chapter of Rita’s musical career,

Dropping May 1, the full length blends memoir and observation, tracing the emotional arc of a woman’s life while tapping into universal truths about identity, pressure and joy.

Pairing soul-baring lyrics with lush, expansive production, the Sleepless in Seattle star calls it a “revelatory excavation of the self.”

Preempting the album, Wilson released the title track, and this week she announced a run of UK and European shows — including a headline slot at EFG London Jazz Festival, plus dates in Glasgow, Berlin, Hamburg and Amsterdam.

Tickets for the London Jazz Festival show will go on sale soon, while all other dates are available now.
