Originally a Japanese bonus track from the California natives’ latest full-length studio album, Unlimited Love, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are finally releasing ‘Nerve Flip’ to the masses.
In true Chili Peppers form, the single overflows with esoteric imagery and psychedelic-like lyrics as frontman Anthony Kiedis sings “Slow down the rivers of time in your mind.” “It’s just a nerve flip to switch when it’s time for the grind.”
Unlimited Love is the Peppers’ first new music with guitarist John Frusciante in 16 years. The band spent much of the spring promoting the full length , while bassist Flea did double duty with a variety of outside appearances, including reprising his viral performance of the National Anthem at a Los Angeles Lakers game, and also recently portrayed a bounty hunter in two episodes of the Disney+ Star Wars miniseries, Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The legendary rockers are currently on tour in support of Unlimited Love, with shows scheduled across Europe through early July at which time the band returns the States for an expansive U.S. tour where they’ll be supported by Haim, The Strokes, Beck, King Princess, St. Vincent and Thundercat at select stops.
