RAYE’s Video Shoot Shuts Down Street

In order to shoot her new music video, RAYE stunned British locals when she shut down a whole street in freezing temperatures.

On Tuesday (1.06,) the superstar singer-songwriter left Walthamstow, East London residents in shock when they opened their curtains to see the 28-year old musician dancing on their road in a red velvet dress.

According to an insider who spoke with The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column:

“While most people stayed at home because the weather was so cold, Raye was a total trooper and got to work on a big, top-secret new video.” “The project was shrouded in secrecy and residents on the road had only been told the street was being shut for filming. No one knew who the star was.” “Then Raye came out and she was incredible. It was so cold out there but she was dancing and singing in this velvet dress like a total pro.” “There was a fake zebra crossing drawn on the road and she was skipping over it.” “There were some people looking through the windows and the postman was stopped in his tracks.” “It was so exciting for locals to see her performing up close.”

Containing the original songbooks from her 2023 debut LP, My 21st Century Blues, and the only copy of her notes and ideas for the follow-up record, Raye’s start to 2026 comes after her car was stolen in 2025. Fortunately, however, both her auto and her notes and lyrics were returned to her months later.

Speaking on The EE Official Big Top 40 in October, the musician (born Rachel Agatha Keen) said “It was a rollercoaster journey, but what I didn’t tell everyone is the police called me maybe two or three months ago, and they were like, ‘We found your car.’ ” “Not only did I get it back, not one thing had been taken out of the car. All my songwriting books were there, untouched.” “Everything ended well. Never give up hope.”
