During her 27th birthday on Thursday (10.24,), Raye took to her Instagram account to announce that fans would have to wait for her much-anticipated second studio LP after her songwriting books were stolen.
“It’s my birthday and my car got stolen with all my song writing books in the boot.” “So no second album any time soon love you bye,” wrote the superstar singer/songwriter accompanied by a series of photos from her birthday celebration, including several snapshots of her posing with a pink birthday sash that read “Queen for the day”.
Born Rachel Keen, the hitmaker also included a photo of a birthday cake topped with the words “Sorry ur car got stolen (sic)”.
Following the unfortunate news, a number of Raye’s friends and fans shared kind words with the singer, including one admirer who wrote, “I’m starting my own investigation, we need that album,” while another supporter wrote, “Happy Birthday my queen, and best believe I’m finding that car.”
The stolen car incident comes just months after the British songstress made Brit Awards history in February by taking home six trophies, the most ever for an artist at the ceremony in a single year, including British Album of the Year, Song of the Year, British Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.
In February of last year, Raye released her debut album, My 21st Century Blues.
