Fetty Wap has been arrested in New York on federal drugs charges.
Born William Junior Maxwell II in New Jersey, the 30-year-old rapper, was apprehended by FBI agents at Citi Field stadium in Queens, New York during this week’s the Rolling Loud music festival.
Wap was one of five men indicted on a drug trafficking conspiracy charge on Friday with prosecutors accusing the men of allegedly transporting and distributing drugs, including heroin and fentanyl in Long Island.
The indictment, which was filed on September 29 and unsealed Friday, charges Maxwell with one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances and the other (4) men were also charged with an additional count of use of firearms in connection with a drug trafficking crime.
Not his first brush with the law, in 2019 the musician was arrested after allegedly assaulting three employees at a hotel and faced three counts of battery. An additional arrest took place in November 2017 and resulted in a DUI charge after police claimed Was had been caught drag racing on a New York City highway.
