As part of Matthew McConaughey’s “We’re Texas” virtual benefit concert, a super-tattooed Post Malone showed up to perform one of his favorite country music songs.
The event, which has raised nearly $300,000 to benefit those affected by Winter Storm Uri through the Just Keep Livin Foundation’s Texas Relief Fund, hosted the 25-year-old pop music sensation as he sang the popular Brad Paisley tune “I’m Gonna Miss Her.” Malone brought the goods, as he sang and played the guitar underneath his latest country music cover.
The song’s original creator, Paisley, reacted to the clip, saying, “Have you heard him sound like that before? I mean, I knew he could, though. He is that good. You know that if he wanted to do what we do, he would be better at it, and he is. He showed that. It’s not fair!”
Post Malone joined Dwight Yoakam’s band for “I’m Gonna Miss Her,” then returned with his take on Simpson’s “You Can Have the Crown.” “I just wanted to play some of my country favorites,” said the “Rockstar” vocalist.
