Porno For Pyros Release First Song In 26 Years: Look + Listen

Some 24 hours after Porno for Pyros rescheduled their first tour in a quarter of a century, the reunited Perry Farrell-led band released “Agua,” their first new song in 26 years.

The highly anticipated song that the band composed while rehearsing for their postponed reunion/farewell tour, was inspired by experiences the iconic band had with dolphins while surfing in the 1990s.

Calling ‘Agua’ “an ode to the sea and all its beautiful creatures,” Porno for Pyros have teamed with the Surfrider Foundation, which advocates for protecting the oceans.

In a statement about the project Farrell said “The people who live here on the West Coast have a beautiful love and passion for the Pacific Ocean.” “The ocean doesn’t look right, doesn’t feel right, doesn’t surf right. You go and swim in it, and you get the creeps. The sunsets are different. We are really, really screwing it up. We have to do something about it. I wanted to bring attention to it through the best megaphone that I know, which is music.”

The first new PFP single since their ‘Hard Charger’ appeared on the soundtrack to Howard Stern’s Private Parts., “Agua” is the initial offering from the band’s third LP and the long-awaited follow-up to Good God’s Urge (1996.)

Featuring Jane’s Addiction’s Farrell and drummer Stephen Perkins along with guitarist Peter DiStefano and bassist Martyn LeNoble, Porno for Pyros will embark on their farewell tour starting in February 2024.
