Offset Addresses Cardi B Split In Song

In ‘Move On,’ the final track on his new album, Offset addresses the end of his marriage to Cardi B.

Preparing to drop his third solo album KIARI on August 22, the Migos rapper spoke to the Associated Press about the closing track and how he felt compelled to record the song following his divorce, stating:

“It’s about moving on, like, peacefully. That’s what the message is supposed to be.” “It’s all love and peace. I just ended the album with that, just to end that chapter because it’s time to move on, it’s over and done with.”

Born Kiari Kendrell Cephus, the superstar musician found writing ‘Move On’ to be a cathartic experience and agreed that the time has come for he and Cardi to start a new chapter in their respective lives.

About their marriage, Offset said “It was great while it lasted.” “That shouldn’t be the topic for either one of us no more. It’s a book that’s closed.”

Wed in 2017, the couple had an on-again-off-again relationship as well as a reconciliation, before Cardi B filed for divorce a second time in 2024.

Sharing a photo of herself lying on the deck of a yacht with American football player Stefon Diggs, in June, the female rapper (born Belcalis Marlenis) confirmed she was in a new relationship.

The former couple share three children – Kulture (7,) Wave (3,) and 11-month-old Blossom.
