More than ten years since their last album, on May 17 New Kids On The Block will release Still Kids, their brand new full length.
Originally announced back in March, their latest single “Kids,” revisits the 1980s and follows “A Love Like This,” which arrived in April. Still Kids features a cameo by DJ Jazzy Jeff “Get Down” and Taylor Dayne who sings on “Old School Love.”
In a statement about their new offering, Donnie Wahlberg said “This album, more than any other, is bringing the New Kids and the fans full circle.” “It’s about hope and possibilities and being ourselves. It’s the most mature album we’ve ever made. Yet it’s the most fun and most comfortable album we’ve ever made.”
In addition to performing, Donnie is the project’s creative director and co-writer of half the 14 songs with Lars Halvor Jensen and his production company, Deekay music. And Donnie’s bandmate, Joey McIntyre co-wrote six songs with songwriter/producer Sean Thomas.
Said McIntyre “It says a lot about any band to make a record that has energy and passion and lightness and fun and depth.” “After almost 40 years together? It’s crazy.”
Marking the iconic boy band’s first LP since 10 in 2013, 10, in 2017 NKOTB dropped an EP, Thankful.
In support of their new album New Kids’ Wahlberg, McIntyre, Jonathan Knight, Jordan Knight, and Danny Wood will hit the road starting June 14 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio thru Aug. 25 in Noblesville, Indiana for an extensive Magic Summer 2024 tour supported by Paul Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff.
