Morgan Wallen Pulls Music From Grammy Awards

Superstar country musician Morgan Wallen has decided not to submit his music for consideration at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

Though they’ve not provided any further details to The Hollywood Reporter, Wallen’s team confirmed the decision to remove one of the biggest acts in the music business from next year’s contention.

Becoming one of the most successful artists in music since the early 2020s, the 32-year old singer.songwriter has not been embraced by the Recording Academy’s voter base, receiving his first and only Grammy nomination in 2024 for his collaboration on Post Malone’s ‘I Had Some Help.’

One of the world’s biggest country musicians, Wallen has the best-selling album of the year, I’m The Problem, spending eleven weeks at #1 on Billboard’s 200 Albums chart since its May release. The full length has since became the most-streamed country album of the year and songs from the album have lined the Hot 100 throughout this summer season.

Not the first major artist to turn their back on the Grammy awards, The Weeknd boycotted the event in 2021, citing a lack of transparency on how the awards were decided. The artist (born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye,) has since made amends with the organization, making a 2025 surprise appearance introduced by Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. who acknowledged the controversy, saying “Criticism is OK. I heard him. I felt his conviction.”
