Following the news that The Weeknd would be rocking the Super Bowl LV Half Time show, the NFL has announces their picks for the supporting performance slots.
With just a little over two weeks until the big February 7th match up, country star Eric Church and R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan will sing the National Anthem while Grammy-winning R&B artist H.E.R. will perform “America the Beautiful.” Unclear whether Church and Sullivan will trade verses or harmonize as one, the diverse combination of artists is a welcomed musical addition during these times of social unrest.
What has become an annual tradition since 1967, the Super Bowl is the most-watched U.S. television broadcast of the year, drawing an estimated 102 million viewers in 2020 and, to many, the half time show is as important as the football game itself.
This year’s Super Bowl takes place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida and will air nationally at 6:30pm EST on CBS-TV.
