Dropping hints about some significant plans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Disney Channel series that launched her career in 2006.Miley Cyrus has teased “really special” plans to mark the upcoming milestone of Hannah Montana.
During her recent appearance on SiriusXM’s TikTok Radio, the superstar singer/songwriter/actress reflected on her time on the show portraying Miley Stewart, an ordinary teenager named who lived a secret double life as the pop star Hannah Montana.
“I want to design something really, really special for it because it really was the beginning of all of this that now sits here today.” “Without Hannah, there really wouldn’t be this kind of… this me.” “It’s so crazy to think, too, that I started as a character that I thought was going to be impossible to shed.” “And now that’s something that when I walk into a space, it’s looked at as this sense of nostalgia or something that you have from your childhood, but I’ve now been kind of integrated into everyone’s life as the character itself. So that’s exciting to get to celebrate that,” said the 32-year old multi-hyphenate.
Cyrus marked the 10th anniversary of the show’s release with a letter to the public in which she stated that, while she felt “disconnected” from who she was at the time, she “will always feel eternally grateful for the opportunity and platform I was given”.
Miley starred in the show for four seasons between 2006 and 2011, as well as the 2009 film, Hannah Montana: The Movie. Her co-stars included Emily Osment, Mitchel Musso, Jason Earles, along with her real-life father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
