After she singing an unreleased song about hope amid chaos, on Thursday (1.30) during the Los Angeles benefit concert FireAid, Lady Gaga alongside Bruno Mars will perform a tribute to those affected by the fires during the 2025 Grammys on Sunday (2.02.)
On Friday (1.31,) along with announcing this year’s Grammy performances, the Recording Academy shared that the “Die With a Smile” collaborators would sing a “special tribute to the city of Los Angeles and those affected by the wildfires.”
Along with their forthcoming live duet, Gaga and Mars are nominated for Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Die With a Smile.” Not the first time both superstars have performed at the Grammys, in 2022 the singer (born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) paid tribute to her friend Tony Bennett, while Bruno performed as part of Silk Sonic that same year.
About time being a healer, on Thursday night, Gaga closed FireAid LA by singing a song co-written by her fiancé Michael Polansky, about which she said “When I was thinking about what to sing tonight I wanted to do something hopeful for you,” she said onstage. “It’s just for tonight, it’s just for you.”
With Trevor Noah returning as this year’s host, last week, the Recording Academy confirmed Billie Eilish, Shaboozey, Charli XCX, and Shakira as performers along with Best New Artist nominees: Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii, Raye, Benson Boone, and Teddy Swims.
