Marc Anthony Endorses Kamala Harris: Look + Listen

On Friday (10.18,) the Kamala Harris campaign released a new TV advertisement featuring Marc Anthony slamming Donald Trump’s approach to Latino issues during his administration.

Titled “Recuerdo,’ the video sees the Puerto Rican superstar saying “Even though some have forgotten, I remember what it was like when Donald Trump was president. I remember what he did and said about Puerto Rico, about our people.” “I remember after Hurricane Maria devastated our island, Trump blocked billions in relief while thousands died.”

“I remember when our families lacked clean water and electricity, Trump threw paper towels and called Puerto Rico dirty and poor.” “I was not surprised. Because I also remember he launched his campaign by calling Latinos criminals and rapists.

Part of the Vice President Harris $370 million investment in television and digital ads ahead of Election Day, the Marc Anthony endorsement is scheduled to air nationally on Telemundo during the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards, and across Pennsylvania on Telemundo and Univision leading up to the election.

“He told us what he’ll do. He’ll separate children from their families, and threaten to use the Army to do it.” “This election goes way beyond political parties. Let’s remember what the United States represents and stands for: United. Regardless of where we’re from.” “I am Marc Anthony and I remember.” “That’s why I support Kamala Harris for President.” ended the multi-Grammy award winning musician.

The Marc Anthony endorsement comes just several days after a collective of 25 Latin music stars – including the likes of Los Tigres Del Norte, Maná, Alejandro Fernández, and Chiquis – released a video titled “Ya Estuvo” condemning Trump’s attacks on Latino immigrants.

“There are real and substantive issues that can and should be debated. The dignity of Latino immigrants is not open for debate.” “Together we say to those spreading hate that we choose something better. Together we say enough is enough,” read the statement.

Over the years, the salsa superstar has been a essential supporter of democratic candidates. In 2015, he welcomed Hillary Clinton on stage during one of his concerts, and in 2012, he supported Barack Obama’s presidential run.
