Maluma Drops ‘Cosas Pendientes’: Look + Listen

On Friday (11.22,), Maluma dropped “Cosas Pendientes,” the first single of his forthcoming +Pretty +Dirty full length project that picks up from where his iconic 2015 Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy era recording left off.

The the Colombian-born superstar’s track opens with the strum of a guitar, before the Latin superstar sings about seeing an ex perreando with another man at the club.

The associated video opens with Maluma having dinner at a luxury restaurant, when he locks eyes with a woman at a different table, on a date with a scary man. When the woman leaves for the restroom, the two cross paths in the establishment’s hallway.

Originally dressed in a suit and donning long hair, the musician (born Juan Luis Londoño Arias) gets jumped by the other man’s entourage after which he decides to shave his head, and get fit in the gym, that addresses his “dirty boy” image of his past. The visual closes with Maluma reconnecting with the woman and garnering the hate of the her ex-lover.

According to the song’s press release, “Cosas Pendientes” is the start of a new chapter for the Colombian-born artist, that finds him exploring new sonic and thematic dimensions with his music, while still leaning into the original essence of Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy.

“Cosas Pendientes” is the follow up to his track “+57” collaboration with the likes of Karol G, J Balvin, and Ryan Castro, that sparked controversy for its lyric interpreted as sexualizing a minor. Don Juan was Maluma’s prior LP (2023,) that followed The Love and Sex Tape EP in 2022.
