In the just-released trailer for Love, Lizzo, the forthcoming documentary, Lizzo offers an in-depth look at her remarkable rise to pop superstardom and the creative process involved.
Premiering 11.24 on HBO Max, the clip starts with Lizzo (born Melissa Viviane Jefferson) confirming a particular career and life constant: “I’m always chasing the music.”
Amidst archival footage of her youth when it took her a while to find “the confidence in her voice” interspersed with the old home video footage of the superstar singer/songwriter, the trailer teases scenes from the artist’s sold out concerts, her whirlwind life on the road, as well as her in the studio working on music.
“Now, when people see me on stage, they see themselves,” Lizzo says near the end of the clip, adding, “Music gave me the opportunity to be who I am.”
Love, Lizzo tops off another massive year for the internationally respected artist, who released Special, her fourth studio LP in July. In additional to her musical duties, the musician also oversaw the premiere of her new reality show, Watch Out for the Big Grrrls series that won an Emmy for Outstanding Competition Program.
