Lizzo Plays Flute On ‘Sesame Street’: Look + Listen

Performing on a one-of-a-kind flute made out of cookies, Lizzo stopped by Sesame Street to play a song for her new friend Elmo.

“This it, Elmo?” the singer asks in faux amazement. “I’ve played a lot of instruments, but I’ve never played a cookie before. May I?”

The superstar musician’s wind instrument rendition had Elmo moving until Cookie Monster showed up and was much more interested in the flute’s cookie casing than the music coming out of it.

After the furry blue puppet devoured the flute, Lizzo (born Melissa Viviane Jefferson) said “That was the one and only cookie flute,” after which the Cookie Monster replied “I know, how can me not eat it? What an honor,” before the music emerged from his stomach.

Lizzo’s latest Sesame Street appearance followed her 2019 online studio session with Cookie Monster when the pair took to their respective Twitter accounts and whipped up a remix to her hit single “Truth Hurts.”
