Celebrating the 20th anniversary of their second album Meteora, Linkin Park is dropping a previously unreleased song called “Lost,” featuring lead vocals by the late Chester Bennington.
Taking to their Twitter account on Monday (2.06,) the band wrote “‘Lost,’ a new, never-before-heard song from the Meteora archives,” along with a snippet of Bennington singing “‘Cause when I’m alone, I’m lost in these memories, living behind my illusion.”
Prior to the yesterday’s post, the iconic rockers had previously shared a countdown to their website, that expired on 2.01 when it was replaced by “What’s this?” on Instagram along with a puzzle where fans could look for clues.
Not the first time the band’s revisited their older repertoire, in 2020, Link Park reissued their debut album Hybrid Theory with unreleased songs, and in 2022 they dropped a deluxe version of 2007’s Minutes to Midnight.
On hiatus since Bennington’s death in 2017, there’s little indication that the group will reunite, but in May of last year, the group took to Instagram and announced that they will “begin sharing a little more regularly” with fans, writing “There’s no concrete plan, but that’s what we like about it,” and teasing a “Notes from the Band,” which would include “tiny snapshots into our daily misadventures.”
