The latest in an ever-growing list of playful cover versions posted to social media, Kevin Bacon just shared a heartfelt, stripped-down acoustic performance of the viral song “It’s Corn.”
On Saturday (9.03) the now 64-year-old actor/musician posted a video of himself soulfully singing the little boy interview-turned-song with nothing but an acoustic guitar and an ear of corn along with the Instagram caption “I can’t imagine a more beautiful thing.”
In early August, the web channel Recess Therapy shared an interview with a young boy named Tariq (aka the “corn kid”), who adorably talked about his love of corn on the cob. The interview has since gone viral, and reached new heights of popularity via TikTok and YouTube after being remixed by The Gregory Brothers, who are known for viral sensations like “Bed Intruder Song” and “Double Rainbow Song.”
Released late-August, the Gregory Brothers’ version of “It’s Corn” has amassed nearly 2.4 million views on YouTube and the song has been played on than 400,000+ TikTok videos.
In recent months, Kevin Bacon has posted several clips of himself covering artists like Harry Styles and Beyonce in front of his beloved goats.
