Charli XCX Urges Brands To Donate Clothes To LA Fire Victims

In support of those who’ve lost everything in the Los Angeles wildfires, Charli XCX has urged luxury brands to donate clothes.

Since Tuesday (1.07,) the world has watched in disbelief as California fires have ripped through huge sections of Los Angeles, leaving thousands of homes destroyed, and billions of dollars of damage in its wake.

Taking to social media on Saturday (1.11), the superstar singer/songwriter (born Charlotte Emma Aitchison) appealed to fashion brands that usually send her gifts to, instead, send free items to those in need in California.

In an Instagram Stories post, the now 32-year old musician wrote:

“As a person in the public eye I am often being sent clothes and other things by brands wanting to gift me something.” “This is very kind and sweet but I want to encourage brands to give to people who really truly need it. Any brands reading this please donate to those who have been tragically affected by these horrific LA fires.”

For what is now almost a week, California firefighters have been battling flames that initially erupted in Los Angeles on Tuesday (1.07.) The fires have since spread from the Pacific Palisades to the Altadena area of Los Angeles County causing the evacuation 180,000 people. And current reports confirm 20+ fire-related deaths and 12,000+ homes have been destroyed or damaged by the fires that are continuing to be fueled by high winds.
