Lamar Leads ’26 Grammy Noms + Full List

On Friday (11.07,) the Recording Academy announced the nominees for the 2026 Grammy Awards, with Kendrick Lamar this year’s most-recognized artist with nine nods, including the coveted album of the year category.

It was during a livestream on Grammy.com that prior Grammy winners – including Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii, Lizzo, and Sam Smith – unveiled next years contenders.

Should the 38-year old Lamar win next February, GNX would become the first rap LP to take home the night’s top prize since Outkast won in 2004 for Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.

The Compton-born artist’s (9) nominations is followed closely by Lady Gaga and producers Cirkut and Jack Antonoff with seven nominations each, and Sabrina Carpenter, Bad Bunny, along with Leon Thomas with nods apiece. Other top contenders include Doechii, SZA, Tyler, the Creator, Clipse, Pusha T & Malice, and producer Andrew Watt, each receiving five nominations.

Notably absent from this year’s list were Taylor Swift and Lily Allen, where their latest respective projects, The Life of a Showgirl and West End Girl were released after the August 31, 2024, to August 30, 2025. eligibility period.
