Complete with music video, Jimmy Fallon welcomes in the Christmas season with Ariana Grande and Megan Thee Stallion on their new track “It Was a Masked Christmas.”
The tongue-n-cheek holiday composition and mini movie address the pandemic experience over the past two years. As Fallon sings about health and internet related matters, Megan raps about applying Purell on everything, and Grande takes the more traditional tact of longing for someone during the winter months, as she singing “someone to hold at night, because it’s gonna snow.”
Not only comical, the prominent booster theme is a wonderful way of encouraging others to get vexed as the late night talk show hosts sings “It’s Christmas time, we’ll be in line for a booster” while the superstar rapper states “Y’all know what time it is, it’s time to get those boosters,” along with with her signature “agh” ad-lib.
No stranger to comical Christmas tunes with a-list musicians, Jimmy Fallon’s prior holiday collaborations include “All I Want For Christmas is You” with Dolly Parton (2017) and a rendition of Paul McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmastime” alongside McCartney and the Roots.
