In June, Jessie J confirmed her surgery to treat early-stage breast cancer, and she’s now been hospitalized for a serious infection.
Over the weekend, the British chanteuse took to her Instagram Stories about being treated for an infection and a “little fluid” on her lungs.
Alongside a photo of an IV in her arm, the musician (born Jessica Ellen Cornish,) wrote “How I spent the last 24 hours.” “6 weeks post surgery and I was back in the same ward I was after my surgery (sic). Not expected or planned. I had and still have symptoms that pointed towards a blood clot on the lung. IT IS NOT A BLOOD CLOT THANK GOD.”
Though she was finding it hard to “breathe in”, the 37-year old mother opted to discharge herself on Saturday night (8.02,) as she “hates being in hospital”.
“A reminder to myself to slow tf (the f**k) down even though I feel like I’m a (tortoise) pace right now. This isn’t a speedy recovery. And it isn’t meant to be.” “I love moving and working and being up and active but I can’t right now, and that’s what it is.” And joking that she’s been diagnosed as “dramatic” she concluded with “I finally got a diagnosis of what’s been going on, apparently it’s called… Dramatic? I think that’s the spelling. My symptoms are the same and no idea what’s wrong yet. But my sarcasm and sense of humor are holding on,” she teased.
Doctors will continue to care for the singer-songwriter as an outpatient.
