After experiencing an impromptu wardrobe malfunction during her live Wednesday (7.23) performance on The Today Show, Jessica Simpson remained cool.
While performing a medley of her greatest hits, and her new brand single ‘Fade,’ the singer’s corset top dropped to expose her pink bra.
Realizing the calamity, Simpson calmly readjusted her outfit, telling the show’s hosts “Of course I had a malfunction here and everywhere, but it’s OK.” “I think my boobs stayed in, so it’s OK,” after the performance.
Following a decade and a half hiatus from music, the now 45-year old singer/songwriter recently released her comeback record Nashville Canyon: Pt. 1, with Part II scheduled for September.
With her ten-year marriage to Eric Johnson ending in January, many of the songs on Jessica’s EP seem to refer to Jessica’s failed relationship.
Addressing how it feels to be releasing her emotions through her music, the mother of three said “Today it was like, ‘Okay, get out of your head. Get out of your head. Who cares if your shoe falls off? Who cares if you forget a lyric?'” “Honestly, it’s just about being able to be up there and be vulnerable and that feels really beautiful.”
Having released ‘Fade’ this week, the lyrics appear to address the breakdown of her marriage, heartbreak and empty promises, as she sings “You can just wait on me / I won’t be around / Watching you fade on me / Your words mean nothing now.”
In her own words, the song writing process had come from a “heavy, emotional moment”.
