After the Grammy award winner “lost his way” on his weight-loss journey, Jelly Roll admits that he’s scared to get back on the scale.
Connecting with this fans via YouTube video, the country music superstar stated that he decided to “enjoy the holidays” before breaking his collarbone at the end of 2025, preventing him from running, walking and exercising for a period of time, adding:
“We hit the goal, and it was right before the holidays, so I was like, ‘You know what, man, I’ve been working hard for the last three years losing this weight, I’m going to enjoy the holidays’. ” “I had a big Thanksgiving meal, I had a big birthday meal, I ate a big Christmas meal. Kinda got off the rails.”
Weighing over 500 lbs at the time, the superstar singer/songwriter (born Jason DeFord,) started his fitness regiment two years ago and was featured on the cover of Men’s Health for the magazine’s Winter 2026 issue after losing 275 lbs.
Admitting that he’s subsequently been avoiding the scales, the 41-year old confessed “I have, to some degree, lost my way. Avoiding weighing in has been the problem.” Yet, planing to continue his weight-loss journey, Jelly Roll stated “I’ve never ran a marathon or thought about running a marathon.”
