Opening up about cheating on his wife, Jelly Roll addressed one of the most painful chapters in his adult life.
During an episode of the Human School podcast, the country music superstar, said:
“One of the worst moments of my adulthood was when I had an affair on my wife.” “Because it was the first time that I was like, ‘I really can’t get this right at all. I know I’m in love with this woman.’ It just really, really, really blew me back.”
Born Jason Bradley DeFord, the 40-year old’s admission came to the surface while was reminiscing on how far he and his wife Bunnie Xo have come as a couple after their ninth wedding anniversary.
Having first met in 2015 while she attended one of his Sin City concerts, it was in August of 2016 that Jelly Roll and Bunnie exchanged vows at the Las Vegas Stained Glass Wedding Chapel.
After being unfairthful, the singer/songwriter put in “a lot of work to repair” their connection, adding that they are now “stronger than we could have ever been”. “I wish our story would’ve went in the way that it never had an affair,” he said in hindsight. “I’m proud of who we are today. I truly am.”
