A legendary figure in the world of international electronic music, Jean-Michel Jarre will perform at the Paris 2024 Closing Ceremony on September 8.
Celebrating the legacy of the French electronic movement at the Stade de France, the the now 76-year old musician is expected to deliver a memorable finale, prior to passing the musical torch onto the top French electronic music artists and young deejays.
Symbolized by the invention of the first wave electronic musical, the Ondes Martenot, a century ago, Jean-Michel’s appearance will pay homage to French electronic music.
During an interview with French daily Le Parisie, Aujourd’hui en France, Jarre addressed his excitement about collaborating with the project’s artistic director, Romain Pissenem, whom he considers one of the world’s greatest show creators today. He also shares his pride in performing alongside the top French electronic music artists and young DJs, emphasizing the significance of this moment in affirming the global legitimacy of French electronic music.
