A New York judge has ruled that the identity of the woman who accused Jay-Z of raping her when she was just 13 years old will remain a secret.
Born Sean Carter, the latest decision comes after the rap mogul’s lawyer requested the court reveal the plaintiff’s name.
After filing a request to deny the alleged victim’s anonymity, Judge Analisa Torres scolded attorney Alex Spiro for being combative and attempting to “fast-track” the judicial process, statin:
“Carter’s lawyer’s relentless filing of combative motions containing inflammatory language and ad hominem attacks is inappropriate, a waste of judicial resources, and a tactic unlikely to benefit his client.” “The Court will not fast-track the judicial process merely because counsel demands it.”
In her suit, the woman who is currently referred to as Jane Doe, accused Jay-Z and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of raping her at an after-party for the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
According to court papers, the alleged victim claims she was asked to sign a nondisclosure agreement when she got to the after-party residence where she was then allegedly drugged after being served a drink and attacked by Combs and Carter as an unnamed female celebrity looked on.
