Jack White Joins SNL’s 5 Timers Club: Look + Listen

During this weekend’s Woody Harrelson-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live, Jack White made his 5th appearance on the longest running comedic skit television show.

For his opening number(s) White played a medley of “Taking Me Back” and “Fear of the Dawn” from his 2022 album Fear of the Dawn followed by a more subtle yet rollicking rendition of “A Tip From You to Me,” off his other 2022 LP Entering Heaven Alive.

Prior to the “Taking Me Back”/”Fear of the Dawn” mashup, Harrelson (who’s also an SNL Five-Timer) stopped mid-intro to ask if White would also receive a coveted jacket that the show gifts to its five-time guests. As the cast and guests gathered for the end credits wave-off, the jackets were given to both White and Harrelson, from surprise guest and five-timer Scarlett Johansson.

In 2002 White made his first SNL appearance with the White Stripes followed by solo stints in 2012, 2018, and 2020, hosted by Lindsey Lohan, John Mulaney, and Bill Burr respectively.
